The place is about the same whether you come from JR Ochanomizu or JR Ueno. The shared space is fairly large, and the bed was just right—not too soft. However, towels and bath towels are paid for, and it’s unclear where the stock is, so I ended up not using them. Although the entrance instructions are posted, it took an extra step to actually get in. There’s no lockable locker, so valuables stay with the sleeping area, which is unsettling. The shared space is nice, but food is left in the area (like instant noodles) and the smell lingers; it’s a matter of user etiquette, so I can’t say much about it.

The price was cheap, but the way to open the door was confusing.

After booking, I got no information at all, so I didn't know how to check in; normally they'd send an email beforehand, but they didn't, which was stressful. When I arrived, I entered my reservation number and name, yet it still didn't reflect, so I couldn't get into the room; finally I had to call the manager and he helped me, but it was a nightmare. I probably won't stay here again.

The hotel is within walking distance from the station and the late‑night auto‑check‑in is convenient, but overall it was dirty and a poor place to stay. The toilet and shower weren’t that filthy, but the bath mat was soaked and made me feel uneasy. The washbasin area was cramped with four sinks and no space for toiletries, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The ladder for the bunk bed was dusty, and there were too few slippers, so I didn’t want to use them. The worst part was the mattress, which was too thin and felt like I was sleeping on the floor, and the duvet was so flimsy I’d never seen one like that. As a backpacker, I could have tolerated this as part of the adventure, but I didn’t expect to pay several thousand yen for such a bad environment. I took it as a joke.
