“Une très belle expérience aux portes du désert”

We had a great time at La Dune Blanche. The camp is pleasant and ideally located at the desert entrance, with dunes right in front: the change of scenery is immediate. Salah welcomed us with a lot of kindness and simplicity. He was accompanied by his two little boys, who clearly brightened our visit! Very sociable, spontaneous and truly funny, they brought a lot of good mood to this experience. Because of the very high heat, we finally couldn’t sleep in the cabin. Salah immediately adapted and offered us to set up the beds outside to spend the night under the stars. And in the end, it was a very nice experience, probably even a better memory than if we had slept inside! Waking up in peace and having breakfast facing the dunes is also a very nice moment. A simple, authentic and warm experience, with hospitality that makes all the difference. Thanks to Salah and his two boys for this beautiful memory of our trip to Morocco!

Salah and his two children are wonderful! Because of the heat, in August most facilities are closed and there aren’t many tourists, so we were lucky to enjoy this stay, or rather, this solitary experience: the 4x4 trip to the dunes (book in advance) to reach the site, the walk on the dunes with the kids at sunset, the incredible dinner, the good and abundant breakfast. Salah offered us tea and we saw the stars with his kids!! The site consists of a series of tents (built with walls and roof), just outside the big sand dunes, on a flatter stretch. The water is obviously very little and boiling, but in the desert it can only be like that. Given the extremely high internal temperatures of the tents, Salah offered us to sleep outside, as he and the kids did, and prepared the beds on the sand. Sleeping under the stars was breathtaking. The key of the experience for which we rate this stay 10! We couldn’t close our eyes because of the enchantment! At night when the wind got colder, Salah brought us a blanket. For us it was magical and memorable. It is also possible to book experiences like a camel or quad ride (we chose the latter). We highly recommend this bivouac!

“Superbe expérience !”

A great experience even in summer! Despite very high temperatures, Salah did everything to make us feel comfortable and the bet was won! We had great moments, magical nights sleeping under the stars, ending with a dune excursion on dromedaries. Salah loves what he does and goes all out to satisfy his clients. I will return without hesitation.

“Sleeping in the middle of nowhere next to dunes.”

We had a peaceful night in the middle of nowhere, lucky enough that no one else had booked, so only the wind broke the silence. The dune is just a few steps away. It covers an area of several hundred meters and, unlike other dunes in the vicinity, is treeless. The food was excellent. The best breakfast in Morocco! Sala is a friendly guy and laughed at my preconceived notions about the desert (I was surprised that there were so many mountains nearby). I was expecting a fantastic starry sky without any light pollution, but because of haze, it wasn’t any better than what I’m used to seeing in the mountains back home. Warning: Desert sand is incredibly fine and gets into every nook and cranny (protect your camera and any moving parts / objectives well). The taxi service and food were four times as expensive as the accommodation itself! It was the most expensive taxi service we used in Morocco; driving ourselves wasn’t an option (the route isn’t signposted, and the 4WD track is impossible to find without local knowledge). Hence, we did know this in advance and did not rent a 4WD. Overall, the price was okay; I wouldn’t have chosen anything different. My only complaint was that this wasn’t communicated clearly from the start. Tip: Ask about all prices beforehand to avoid surprises.

The experience was fantastic – would definitely recommend! We stayed in a lovely spot right next to the sand dunes, and the accommodation was clean and well kept. Communication before arrival was spot‑on, and the pickup service ran smoothly. All in all, everything was flawless.
