“Excellent stay staff and atmosphere and I like the birthday surprise too”
Everything from start to finish was spot on, except for the bed in room 050 which just wasn’t comfortable.

The Hotel Pirchnerhof in Reith im Alpbachtal offers regional cuisine and superb mountain views. Based on holistic principles of Hildegard von Bingen, it serves healthy, locally-sourced food. Spacious rooms with balconies overlook the surroundings. The hotel features a large spa area with indoor pool, outdoor pool, sauna, and steam room, plus yoga classes and a gym, set amidst gardens with a sunbathing lawn and foot massage path.

The reception was super friendly, the service was excellent, the food was good, the hotel itself was lovely with a nice pool area, and the care they gave was truly special.

The location is superb, the staff are friendly, and the pool and garden are very nice. Rooms booked through Booking always end up in the country house section, which isn’t mentioned in the description, and “upper floor” on Booking actually means the first floor of the hotel; a surcharge is required for the second and third floors, giving the impression that Booking guests get the poorer rooms. On site we added a 3‑/4‑board plan, which included drinks from 12 pm to 9 pm (soft drinks, beer and wine) and a “fine afternoon snack” between 2 pm and 4 pm with light salads, soups, regional specialties and pastries, but none of that appeared during the week—no salads, no regional dishes, no pastries. Instead we got fried liver‑cheese three times, pasta twice, and a variety of sausages, each served with cold cuts and small cream‑filled pastries (about 3 × 3 cm, thawed from frozen). We never saw anything regional or Tyrolean; an apple or curd tart would have been nice. The six‑course dinner was excellent, breakfast was plentiful and tasty with good choices, though on three mornings the croissants were sold out and never restocked.

The location is good, especially in relation to the motorway, but the hotel’s placement itself is just nice with a beautiful view and close to the small town of Reith. The surroundings, food, activities, and room were not up to expectations.

The staff were very kind, the surrounding green spaces were beautiful, and the bar was very nice. For a 4‑star hotel I expected more attention to detail. Drinks had to be served by yourself and most of the time you also had to take your own cutlery, which is unacceptable for the price paid. I never saw the hotel offer a pool and sauna without providing slippers. In the room we were “offered” a welcome bottle of water in an open carafe, without even a cork.
