“Beautiful property but instructions were unclear and lacked care”
I stayed at a beautiful property right in the heart of Germany’s famous wineries and vineyards. But if you arrive late and are booking for a large group, the staff don’t take the time to explain the instructions properly and there’s no one to call in case of emergencies. I booked 6 rooms for 8 people, and when I got there they didn’t give me any guidance on which room belonged to whom. I spent 20 minutes moving between three different buildings trying to sort it out. For instance, a “double room” is named after a soil type or vineyard, which is charming but they should have written “double room” somewhere. They had a sheet with the room names, yet they didn’t list each person’s name or the room type next to it, and we didn’t book identical rooms. It felt like a lack of care for guests, and we almost missed dinner because of it. I called them, but they don’t answer after hours, and messages go unanswered too. If you’re arriving late, get clear instructions well in advance and call them; don’t rely on messaging after hours.
