“Cute cabin with an ant problem”
The property looks lovely. It’s far enough from town to feel quiet and safe, yet close enough that you can walk everywhere you need. The bar area and dock are great spots to relax. Larry is an excellent bartender, and the food and drinks are tasty and reasonably priced. The air‑con works well and gives great relief from the Caribbean heat. The communal kitchen is well kept and handy for making your own meals. The main problem was that our cabin was infested with carpenter ants; on the first night after showering they swarmed around the bathroom doorframe, and the next morning there were still 20‑30 clustered there. We reported it to reception, who treated the room that day; after the spray there were fewer ants, but they kept nesting in the wooden doorframe throughout our stay. The mattress was one of the worst we’ve had in six months of traveling in Latin America and needs replacing urgently.
