Only the location was good. The place was disgusting: the bed and its back were very dirty, the chairs were in bad condition. There was no cold water, only hot water that burned you.

I liked the location of the Hotel. Beds were comfortable. Shower was fine once you got used to it except there was a problem with cold water system on our check out day - 26th September - one of those things! The Staff serving the breakfast were brilliant. Small rooms for the price - not as big as it looks in the photos. Photos misrepresent the actual size. At times I had wished I had gone for a more basic and cheaper hotel. I understand it's a peak period but it is too much for what it is. I had asked via Whatsapp for some extra service as me and my wife were coming to Rome to celebrate our 50th anniversary. I had even offered to pay any extra. This was the reply by Alice "Dear guest, Thank you for choosing Hotel Britannia for your next stay in Rome and for celebrating this special occasion! We would be very pleased to help you organize a surprise for your anniversary. We would like to inform you that these are the following services we could offer you: - Cake (fruit/cream/chocolate) for two people at the price of Euro 40,00 - Sparkling wine Euro 35,00 - Red or withe wine Euro 30,00 - Bouquet of flowers Euro 50,00 Also, we could also put some balloons in the room as well for free. We remain at your full disposal should you have further queries and/or necessities Kind regards, Alice B." The communication via Whatsapp was amazing and I was really looking forward to coming and staying at The Britannia Hotel. This was another response from Britannia - Dear guest, Thank you very much for your kind message. We have contacted the pastry shop we work with, and unfortunately, they are unable to prepare an eggless cake. We are very sorry that we cannot arrange this for you. However, we would be delighted to arrange a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the room for your wife. We will also do our best to provide balloons in the room, although please note that we cannot guarantee their availability 100%. In addition, we will prepare the room with all the special amenities we usually arrange for celebrations of this kind, including some little sweets and a handwritten card prepared personally by our team, to make the occasion even more special
