The place is very centrally located, and the room was really clean. The entrance to the building was covered in spider webs, which made it difficult if you’re afraid of spiders. We stayed for four nights but could only sleep well for about one night. The people upstairs moved furniture around and made noise all night long. Other negatives were that there was no TV and no hob in the room.

The location was very quiet and the service was fabulous. Bikes were available for most of the time (one needed a minor repair, which was handled promptly). The decking floorboards felt spongy underfoot and could use some maintenance.

We had a great time in Amsterdam and on the houseboat; it’s a unique spot that’s perfect if you’re after something special. In the mornings we were greeted by a family of ducks on the canal next to us, and the area feels green and peaceful, yet public transport and biking get you downtown quickly. We’d have liked a few more pieces of tableware—maybe one or two extra cups, spoons, or knives—and the bikes and terrace floorboards look worn, so they might need replacement. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

The porch is pretty, though a bit neglected and moldy, and while you’re having breakfast the ducks come over. The room is tiny, the hot water was off when we arrived but got fixed after a while, it was quite hot for summer and there’s only one fan, plus some dust buildup. There’s also no TV.
