After paying £500 per night for a 4* hotel, I was annoyed when I was asked to pay an extra tip for the reception and housekeeping staff. Surely the hotel can afford decent wages for good staff based on such high room rates.

We had an exceptional stay in the most beautiful part of the Amalfi Coast; Praiano should be on everyone’s list and Tramonto d'Oro is the best place to stay. Our room offered an incredible sea view, was extremely spacious and comfortable, and the entire staff was welcoming and thoughtful. The on‑site restaurant was delightful, and the rooftop bar and pool area was, as the Italians say, “perfetto.” My wife and I will definitely return to relive this magical Amalfi Coast experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We absolutely liked everything; nothing was lacking.

The Tramonto d'Oro was the best hotel I have ever stayed in; the staff was amazing, very helpful, and they recommended restaurants for dinner each night, booked the reservations for us, and arranged car service to and from. My daughter and I were in awe, and thanks to Ms. Carmella, Mario, Rafaela, Roberta, Luigi, and the rest of the team for making my 60th birthday the best ever. I honestly can’t say anything negative about this hotel; I keep telling everyone going to Italy that they must stay there.

The balcony view was great and breakfast was 10/10, but the room and bathroom were both very small, which made the value feel like it was not worth it.

The hotel was gorgeous, offering the best sunsets and views during our Amalfi tour. Breakfast came on a lovely terrace overlooking the sea, a perfect spot for a sunset drink. It was the best breakfast choice among the five properties we stayed at, with a great selection. The staff were friendly and there was nothing too much trouble. The lunch menu was lovely, and the pool area always had plenty of loungers and never felt crowded. Rooms and the property were spotlessly clean. There were nice places within walking distance for drinks and dinner. My room was spotless and comfortable. The only gripe was the corridor lighting, which felt really sterile, and my room lacked a view—just a wall with a small window. I might have misread that certain rooms were like this, but given how long we stayed in the room, it wasn’t worth paying extra for a view, and it didn’t affect my holiday.
