“Good value for the cost”
The location is good, the staff friendly, and the room comfortable. The complimentary breakfast could use more variety, and rooms should include a kettle.

I liked that it was much cheaper than the five‑star hotels, which are the only other option in Georgetown, offering a more affordable alternative. I didn’t like that Guyana felt very expensive for what was provided, especially compared with other places I’ve visited. The property itself wasn’t particularly clean, felt tired, and was in an unpleasant part of town. Unfortunately, there aren’t many accommodation options in Georgetown, so finding real value is hard.

Nothing positive except the Cuban reception staff and the breakfast, who were very kind. The location is bad, far from tourist spots. Even though the room has air conditioning, the power is weak and takes a long time to cool the room. The owner orders staff to turn off the room’s power when a guest leaves, so when you return the room is at 50 °C; the fridge was turned off and the drink that should have been cold was completely hot. Breakfast had few items: one egg per person, stale fruit, and bread with many ants. The breakfast room and reception had no air conditioning. We arranged a taxi to the airport with the driver, who seemed to be affiliated with the hotel, for 50 USD. Five minutes before the driver arrived, the owner’s daughter extorted an extra 10 USD, making the trip 60 USD. We had to submit to this abuse because we needed to get to the airport. I do not recommend staying here.

Breakfast was very good, and the chef/server was friendly and pleasant. I was given a room with a broken screen on the bathroom window. I slept fine the first night, but on the second night I saw a wooden figure on the wall above the bed. I tried to kill it, but it fell on my pillow and then disappeared. I think it entered through the broken window. I reported it to the receptionist, who came with a towel and covered the window. I told her I wouldn’t sleep in the room unless the wooden figure was found and removed. After about six minutes of insisting, she called the manager, who was pleasant enough to move me to another room.

The staff—both at reception and the restaurant—are friendly and helpful, which is the main strength of this place. The facilities include a water server that provides hot and cold water. My room was unlucky: the bathroom fixtures were broken, and part of the floor had a puddle. While brushing my teeth, I used water from the server and flushed it into the toilet, which was extremely inconvenient. The hair dryer was also broken. The air conditioner cools but makes a loud noise. The biggest stress was the very weak Wi‑Fi that not only was weak but also cut out quickly; uploading videos or multiple photos was impossible, causing wasted time with re‑tries and reconnections, which was really painful.
