“Si lo sé no la alquilo”
The quiet of the place and the host’s friendliness were positives. The house itself is very uncomfortable; it has two floors, with the kitchen/living room downstairs and the bedroom with the bathroom upstairs. The interior stairs to the second floor are extremely dangerous, so when we went to sleep or shower we used the exterior entrance that climbs a hill. The garden is beautiful, with a tree in the middle, but the tree is full of wasps, making it impossible to stay there and constantly tense. Inside, the living room has very uncomfortable sofas that leave your back in an “S” shape. When you shower upstairs, water drips down the wall onto the floor below; I’m not sure if it’s been fixed, but I warned them because the ceiling wood looked soaked and seemed risky for future guests. They call it “refugio da Estrela,” but if you’re going to Serra da Estrela like we were, planning to visit villages and hike, this house is quite far and the roads are very winding.
