The location of El Doroka is ideal, by the river and close to the Philae temple. You can get there by road or boat. The accommodation is beautiful, original, and full of charm. El Doroka works well for families or groups of friends. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the riverside terrace is a real delight for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The food also has excellent value, and we ate well throughout our stay. What we valued most was the care we received. They were attentive at all times, with genuine kindness and closeness that felt real, unlike other parts of Egypt. We especially thank Salah, who made sure we were comfortable and did everything possible to help us. On the last day our return flight to Cairo was cancelled and delayed until 00:30, and Salah let us stay at the accommodation to rest, and in the end we spent a fun afternoon playing cards with him and another guest. That was a huge thank‑you and turned an uncomfortable situation into a lovely memory of the trip. Finally, we recommend arranging pick‑up directly with the accommodation. Some drivers won’t go to the Nubian village and leave you at the dock to continue by boat, even though you can drive there. Coordinating pick‑up with them avoids potential hassles. In short, we highly recommend El Doroka for its location, charm, peaceful surroundings, good food, and especially the human quality of the people running it. A place where you feel warmly welcomed and enjoy a different, authentic experience in Aswan.
