“Good views, food, bed, and shower. Parking is odd. Point the remote at the air conditioner (duh)!”
We stayed in what seemed like a “presidential suite,” a very nice room with a great bed and shower, and a balcony with a beautiful view that we barely used because our stay was short. The staff were friendly and left us fruit, crackers, and a 20 % lunch voucher (and would have offered a second 20 % dinner voucher if needed). When we arrived, we read that parking was free, but a gate was closed and looked like it required a room key—bad for new arrivals. We parked in an ungated lot near the commercial building next to the hotel, unsure if it was allowed, and had to carry our luggage about 200 feet into the hotel. Halfway through, the manager ran out to help, which felt odd at the start. Later we found an open spot and asked to move our car; the room key didn’t open the gate, taking 10 minutes and a couple of front‑desk visits before a staff member finally opened it. We went to the hotel restaurant for lunch with our voucher, enjoyed the food, but when we presented the voucher they wouldn’t accept it; we had to give it when ordering. That’s not usual in the U.S., and they couldn’t fix it—no refund or redo, only about 10 euro credit, leaving a sour taste. We returned for dinner and followed the proper procedure. Minor nit: we needed help “figuring out” the air conditioning (solution: point the remote at the unit on the other side of the room, either too far from the bed or blocked by the barrier between bedroom and living room). It felt like user error but also not obvious that the remote wouldn’t work from the bedroom where it was placed in a holder.
