“An Unforgettable Amazon Experience with an Outstanding Guide!”
Our stay at Refugio Amazonas was absolutely incredible. The open‑air rooms immerse you in the sounds of the jungle, the cabins are spotless and comfortable, and the three‑course meals are delicious. One of the highlights was our exceptional guide, Christian. His deep knowledge of the rainforest is matched only by his kind, patient, and energetic personality. He has a brilliant eye for spotting wildlife and made every excursion both fascinating and fun. Highly recommended!
The place is worth every penny it asks for. A wonderful experience, completely in touch with nature (100 % you’ll find a friend in the room at night). Everything was perfect, from the food to our guide, to the activities, and to the lodge itself. Nothing to report.
“No hablar inglés es un inconveniente”
The place is amazing, surrounded by nature. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all delicious. The rooms were very comfortable, though you could hear everything from the neighboring rooms. Everything was very well organized. Guides Cristian and Carlos were very attentive. The service is heavily skewed toward American tourists; speaking Spanish seemed to be a problem, even in a Spanish‑speaking country. We were a group of three, only one spoke English, and during the excursions and talks we had to ask if they could speak Spanish, and they always had to check, as if it were an issue. That’s the only thing that needs improvement, because we always felt out of place.
“Perfect Gem in the middle of the Rain Forests!!”
All of it… Refugio Amazonas was just the perfect lodge on every level. The service, the eco environment, the passionate guides, the authentic delicious food, and the 100 % jungle sounds all around you made it a dream come true and I can only recommend it!!!👌👌👌💟💟💟 Sometimes the neighbors in the rooms next door were really inconsiderate, but I guess that’s why they give you ear plugs…😂
“Bien, pero no tanto”
The staff were friendly and the guide was helpful, and the room was fine even though there was no AC because we were in the jungle. I also enjoyed the brief chats with the biologists and their projects. The price felt too high for what you can actually do there; the wildlife sightings were pretty poor compared to other wild places. On the lake trip (more like a pond) I would have loved a shade on the canoe.
