The hotel was spotless and the scent matched the cleanliness. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were a hit. Breakfast was decent, and the overnight front‑desk gentleman—whose name I couldn’t get—was helpful. However, my name was entered incorrectly, so the system struggled to locate me. After attending an event and returning late, other guests were allowed into our room, the pool was closed, and breakfast became a hassle again. The front‑desk staff during check‑in and check‑out seemed indifferent to our issues, a level of service I’ve never seen in any other hotel chain. If I visit Chicago again, I’ll look elsewhere.

Breakfast was excellent and the newly renovated rooms looked great, while the lobby felt spacious and pleasant to sit in and housekeeping responded quickly to any requests. When we arrived, a man parked right next to our car and kept glancing our way, which made my wife stay by the vehicle while I fetched a cart for the luggage; as soon as I approached, he drove off, leaving us with an uneasy feeling that was only heightened when someone smoked weed in the lift, though everything else turned out fine afterwards.

The location was great, and Ivan at the front desk delivered excellent customer service. The female staff member who was there earlier was short‑changed and not as welcoming as Ivan. The parking fee for guests was outrageous compared to what I paid for the room, and the breakfast cost $17 per person—so I went to IHOP instead, which was disappointing. Room 115 was somewhat dirty inside the bathroom door, and the bathroom lighting was poor. One bed had stained sheets from previous nights or something else. Overall, the room was decent.

The staff were friendly and nice, and that’s about it. The hotel sits on a very busy, noisy road, making it hard to sleep. Hallways constantly smelled of marijuana. Getting in and out of the parking lot is difficult because of the traffic. Water sold at the gas station for 0.75 cents is being sold for $7.00—an insane price. They didn’t change bed sheets between guests, so we found stains; they only made up the beds and left it at that.
