The grounds were a mess – trash wasn’t collected and the bags got ripped open by animals, so litter was scattered everywhere. I was hoping for at least basic cleanup, but nothing was done.

We had a wonderful family getaway in that house – four spacious bedrooms, a comfy living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful garden. Everything was spotless and the whole place felt very comfortable.

The house itself is lovely and well‑fitted, with a nice kitchen, good furniture, and a nicely planted terrace and garden that were both clean and well cared for. The drive up the last hundred metres is unpaved and bumpy, and inside there are a few minor issues – a window that won’t open and some loose sockets. I also missed any kind of waste‑sorting, which none of the Bulgarian rentals we’ve tried offered.

The place has everything you need for a short stay – a shared dining area so you don’t have to buy single‑use items, coffee, oil, toiletries, a big garden and a BBQ, making it ideal for trips to the Rila lakes and nearby spas (you’ll need a car). The only downside was that the bed wasn’t especially comfortable.

Everything about the stay was fine; the accommodation met my expectations and there were no real complaints.
