“Comfortable and quiet in a local neighbourhood.”

I stayed in a quiet spot away from tourist crowds, close to local eateries and with easy public transport. The private onsen was a highlight, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had classic Japanese décor with tatami mats, and overall it was very comfortable. The room was marketed as Japanese, but it actually had a western‑style bed in case you wanted a futon; we were fine with that because of our age and the creaky joints. There was a little noise from the floor above.

“I keep coming back to this nice home-feeling inn.”

The place is perfectly situated near Demachiyanagi station and right in the middle of Sakyo‑ku. I had a huge room with a cozy bed and the staff were welcoming. The bathroom was a bit small for my taste, and checking out early was a bit of a hassle, but everything else was great.

The main shop near the full‑moon hotel let me grab an Ajarimochi first thing in the morning, and the warm manju were delicious. My room was very clean and comfortable, and I’d gladly stay there again, although I did notice a burnt‑out light bulb on the stairs.
