Starlight Mountain Lodge SIGCHOS

We were the only guests during our visit, so we got a room upgrade at no extra cost. The view was simply magical; we spent a good amount of time admiring it and taking photos with the ponchos that were provided :) The host was super friendly, and the lunch boxes were substantial and helped us throughout our Sigchos → Isinlivi trek. We ate very well, and potable water was available for refilling our bottles.

The garden and common room with games, plus the outdoor space with its view, are magnificent, and the meals the owner prepares are delivered with care. The room was a bit small and rather old, so don’t expect a cocooning space, but for the price‑quality ratio it’s very good!

“A great place to stay before your big hike on the Quilotoa Loop”

The staff were very kind and welcoming. Even though we arrived late, they still cooked a hot dinner for us. The breakfast was very fresh, with boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, coffee/tea, fresh fruit, and juice. The property had friendly dogs you can interact with. The bathroom was clean for the most part, but some areas in the shower could have been double‑checked for cleanliness.

The lodge’s location is fantastic with a great view! The food was fantastic. Sitting by the fireplace, sipping tea, and playing pool made our stay even better. The hosts were the best—very warm and welcoming, we felt right at home.
