We had a wonderful time and felt very comfortable from the very first moment. Eddy is an incredibly warm and attentive host who really did everything to make sure we had nothing missing. Jacopo also made us feel truly welcome with his helpful and friendly nature. Together they are just great hosts! The accommodation was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The location is also perfect for exploring Lucca and the beautiful surroundings and for day trips. For us it’s a sure thing: we’ll definitely come back and we can’t wait already! Thank you, Eddy and Jacopo, for the wonderful time with you! Nothing to complain about!

Il buen retiro is fantastic! Very clean, great beds, the shower has good water pressure, the décor is detailed, small‑scale and personal. That personal touch comes from the fantastic host Eddi. He remembers everything! Your name and your wishes/needs, shows genuine interest in your plans, gives good and useful tips and follows up the next day to see if everything went well. We stayed here for the first two nights of our tour and missed Eddi (and his lovely dogs) for the rest of our vacation. This man puts his guests high on his priority list and makes sure you have nothing missing. His accommodation with the lovely pool I recommend to everyone! The only downside was that we had to leave and couldn’t take Eddi with us.

The host’s hospitality, the good beds, the nice pool. The noise is fairly loud (on a busy road). Perhaps it’s less of an issue in the rooms at the back.
