A tiny room in Paris feels just like that: big French doors and a small courtyard that reminded me a lot of the Airbnb I had there. It’s charming, a little dated, but that’s part of its appeal. The owner was very friendly and even took the time to show me how to drink Mate. On the downside, the room code changed and a 10 percent fee was added for using a credit card at the hotel. The room was still a good value, though it felt like there was no privacy because of the noise. The price you pay for the old French doors was a bit high.

The location is very good, but the place isn’t a hostel nor a hotel; there are no facilities to heat water for an infusion, for example, and the person who received us was very kind and tried to address some inconveniences.
