Before the house there were parking spaces, and more along the main street. The staff were friendly and the door code was sent by e‑mail. The room key had to be handed over personally by the host. The room itself was spacious, with a super comfortable bed. There was a large balcony with a chair and table outside, perfect for winding down the day. The Ulster ran quietly past, with ducks and occasionally horse riders crossing the water. Because I was there for business, I needed an invoice for my company. Almost a month later, no answer comes to phone, e‑mail or SMS. It seems the money is either kept in the host’s pocket or invested in the building. A pity.

The rooms were acceptable and the balcony was clean, which was the only positive thing. The hotel overall feels like a construction site, sometimes dusty and with outlets hanging from the wall. The hotel’s message that there is only breakfast, and only on weekends, turned out to be false – there is no breakfast at all. Luckily I had asked beforehand, otherwise we would have been in a bad spot. The “living room” (the former breakfast area) was not really clean; used dishes were everywhere, old leftovers from the breakfast buffet were still there, and flies were coming out of the trash can. The promised kitchen didn’t exist; we had to bring a camping stove, otherwise mornings would have been just cold drinks. During the stay, apart from occasional other guests, no one was seen. It felt like a ghost town.

“Für eine Nacht ausreichend!”

The area is on the Rhön cycle path right by the Ulster. Check‑in was smooth with a PIN sent to my phone. I stayed in room 15, which had a balcony with a stunning view of the mountains and the Ulster. The room was clean and had all the necessary items (hair dryer, shampoo, plenty of towels). A bike could be parked securely in the entrance area. The price for the night and the services offered are reasonable. The entrance area is less inviting; you can immediately see that renovation is urgently needed. The on‑site restaurant appears to be permanently closed. Dinner and breakfast cannot be booked.
