The rural location was out of town, and the host family and Kiwi BnB were lovely. Our stay was cut short, but Dave was very accommodating. Thanks again for understanding.

The location was perfect on the way home from Christchurch—peaceful and easy to reach from the motorway. I had to reboot the kettle when boiling because it clicked off, but that wasn’t a big deal.

The host was friendly, but the room was cramped and the cleanliness was poor. We found weeds at the door, a dirty terrace in front of the house, dead insects and grime in the shower (so we didn’t use it), a filthy fridge with sticky bottles and jars, and a supposedly provided grill that was rusted, infested with cockroaches, and unusable.
