“Promised more than it delivered”

The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed, a table that had a mirror and a plug socket for hair styling, a large clean bathroom, onsite parking, and the hotel was quiet even though the town is lively. The location was super central. On the three occasions I visited, the reception was never staffed, so no one greeted me or said goodbye. I rang the bell at the desk but no one answered, and the staff were busy in the restaurant. Because of a party in part of the dining room, other guests couldn’t order food for 30 minutes, so I left. The rooms were dated and the main ceiling light was very dim. Sunday lunch was disappointing: the meat was good but the vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and crackling were underwhelming, and the poached eggs at breakfast were overcooked.

The room was a lovely, light, spacious space with plenty of storage, and the bathroom was also roomy with options for personal toiletries. Breakfast was cooked to order, and it was nice to see a smaller and vegetarian option available, plus a wide variety of choices. Only one lady was available to take orders and bring food, and she did a great job, though she was clearly overworked and another person would have helped. It was nice to have smaller portions on offer, though the carrot and cucumber with macaroni cheese was unnecessary. I had asked beforehand if we could leave our car early for a day show at the Tivoli, and I was told it was fine as long as there was space and someone at reception was informed. The staff member we saw was not as helpful at first, but he did allow us when I mentioned I had asked earlier.

Excellent breakfast Comfortable room and bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Would have liked to know in advance that the dining room closes on Sundays at 7.30pm

The location and breakfast were fine. The bathroom needs an update.

“Location good. Accomodation was not good value for £152 for one night”

The location and breakfast were good. The room needs a complete overhaul—bed, décor, and bathroom are very poor for the money paid.
