Alte Kalkoefen Lodge, nestled in Simplon’s African gardens, features bright rooms with terraces overlooking the Gurib River bed, air‑conditioning, and outdoor showers. The spot is excellent, perfect for stargazing. The hosts are professional and helpful. Dinner and breakfast are very tasty, and the succulent garden is marvelous—don’t miss it! Highly recommended for the southern part of Namibia (Fish River Canyon, Luderitz). Perhaps a larger variety for breakfast and bigger portions for dinner would be better.

We had stayed here before and came back because it was so lovely. This time we booked the new self‑catering chalet, which was spacious, fully equipped, very comfortable, and offered great countryside views. The owners were lovely and welcoming, and we also enjoyed an excellent dinner. Highly recommend!

The place blends into the landscape, the hosts are very friendly and engaged, the restaurant serves good Namibian cuisine, and the “Ökotouch” feels heartfelt.

The Pavillon System feels like a tiny house with a spacious room and excellent indoor and outdoor showers. From the small terrace in front of the house, the view is wonderful. Parking for the car is very convenient. The Lithops collection is fascinating and unique. Breakfast is superb, beautifully presented and of very high quality, and the breakfast room is tastefully decorated. A mosquito net over the beds and one in the bathroom by the window would be useful.
