The quiet setting of the very comfortable house in idyllic Ilsenburg suited us perfectly; every staff member was friendly, helpful and caring. The hotel is an excellent base for many hikes, such as through the Ilse valley to the Brocken or the monastery trail into the nearby lively and bustling Wernigerode. Don’t forget the very good kitchen and the spaciously designed wellness area!

The location was great, the reception was fantastic and the restaurant was good, but the bio sauna felt a bit cramped.

The town is cute and small and the hotel sits on a lakeside; it looks nice outside but is uncomfortable inside. The room had a lot of dust and seemed closed for a long time. I had an asthma attack and we had to request a new cleaning. We arrived at 22:00, the restaurant was closed and they didn’t even offer us a piece of bread.

We felt completely comfortable; the staff were very competent, breakfast was excellent, and the view of the trout lake from the breakfast winter garden was beautiful. The spa area was great. We’ll come back.
