Hotel Kapalai Semporna

The location and distance from the Semporna chaos are good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the property was far below expectations; our room was not cleaned daily and overall hygiene was lacking. The breakfast area was especially disappointing for a 4‑star property, with poor cleanliness and standards. Given the hotel’s category, we expected a much higher level of service and cleanliness.

I had a very positive stay at Kapalai Hotel in Semporna. The hotel is clean, the room was spacious and comfortable, with a great shower and a very clean bathroom. Breakfast was also good, with a satisfying selection. Apart from that, it is definitely a good place to stay and a recommended stopover for one night, especially for travellers who are passing through Semporna before or after their trips to the islands. The only thing to consider is the location: the hotel is quite far from Semporna town centre, so you will need to take a Grab to get there.

“The location was good and it was clean”

The spot is great, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired, with very few options and no decent western dishes.

“Very enjoyable. The room was clean and spacious. The bus rides was a plus too. Great staff!”

We loved the variety they offered, the food was fresh and the drink selection was solid, and there was nothing to complain about.

I was pleased with the hotel's value for money, as the room was clean and the breakfast was decent. However, I was a bit disappointed with the hotel's location, as it was a bit far from the town center and required a car to get around.
