“Good value last minute booking”
The Pod is ideal for a solo traveller staying one or two nights; my GSD was less impressed (see photo!), but we managed, and having both a garden and a fish & chip shop nearby was a bonus.

Breakfast was self‑serve, but I left so early I didn’t get a chance to try anything.

The location was good, the room was spacious with a huge bed, but the window didn’t shut properly. The dog rate was outrageous at £25 each, and there was building work on level 2 that I wasn’t aware of when I booked. I also found out from the small print that car parking costs extra.

The pillows were dirty and the whole place was grimy; no one was around to check you in, and the bar service was very poor overall.

The self‑serve continental breakfast was excellent, and the sheets and towels were clean. However, road works outside kept going until after 1 am, the place clearly needs a thorough clean and paint—maybe a full refurbishment. The mattresses weren’t great, one bathroom had smashed tiles that could cut bare feet, the stairs were steep and narrow, and one room was so damp that the smell was awful.
