Cozy 1BR stay in Taupo Central

“Not great. Do NOT recommend! I suggest a couple renovations to the owner…”

The roof is quick to answer a phone call, but messages go unanswered. Things are falling apart: hair in the bed, the spa had slugs and looked moldy, and getting to the spa was awful because the door wouldn’t open or close properly. There’s nowhere to prepare or clean food, and I had to buy my own drinking water. The shower was terrible, towels and bedding had holes and stains, and we were promised a heater that wasn’t installed correctly. The walls were extremely thin, the rooms got very cold, and no one was there to greet us or say goodbye.

“Short, cold and uncomfortably difficult to stay in.”

The location was close, but the photo on the listing was a complete misrepresentation of the property. It was extremely cold, stale, and mismatched in many ways, making it very uncomfortable. The noise from people walking upstairs echoed down into my room, and the place felt dirty—there was a peeled‑off doily on the table. The door to the “hot tub” wouldn’t close, and getting to the TV was difficult, so I ended up just going to bed. I was glad I brought an extra blanket and my own towels because the provided ones looked and smelled unclean.

“Great location and value for money, spa was fantastic, beds very comfortable.”

The location was excellent, very convenient and close to the city centre. The B&B lived up to its name by being very cosy. We loved the spa and found it lovely to relax after a long day. For future guests, a little hot chocolate in addition to the tea and coffee would be nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, it was fantastic value for money, and the location was great. The lockbox was hard to use; an electronic keypad would be better. The neighbours were pretty lively and the walls are thin, but I appreciated the queen bed and the closed door.
