The HOJO in Evansville sits right across from the mall, close to shops and restaurants, and the rates are fair. In the first room I killed a large roach and then four smaller ones, so I asked for a different room because the initial one wasn’t clean. It feels like the hotel has a pest issue. In the second room the bathtub was peeling and the toilet seat was loose. Given those problems, I was surprised to learn they’ve won awards for renovation and cleanliness.

Breakfast featured biscuits and gravy, and the location is convenient. The sausage and eggs only appeared every other day, so if you stay more than three nights it would be nice to see more variety.

The staff were sweet and understanding. The first room had a big stain on the curtain and floor that looked like blood, the TV remote didn’t work, and the phone couldn’t be used. In the second room there were stains on the bed.

The place was clean and comfortable. Nothing to complain about.

Getting there was easy and it was right in the middle of everything we wanted to visit. Nothing to note—everything was great.
