From Naples Central Station, the hotel is just a short walk down a lively street, so even at night it feels safe. The elevator costs 10 cents, but I told the host the check‑in time and he was waiting on the first floor to hand it over. The room also had several 10‑cent coins, which was handy. Most importantly, the room faces Vesuvius directly, and every morning the sunrise from the volcano was beautiful. In the end the elevator was effectively free, but having to prepare a 10‑cent coin in advance is a hassle. Italian shops rarely exchange money and most won’t give you 10‑cent change.
