“Frustrating and unfriendly”

The location is central particularly to the down town Brooklyn. 1. The hotel has no reception or any waiting area 2. The staff said checking in was 3.00pm while 2.00pm was stated in the booking. When I arrived at 12.30pm, I was told I will not be checked in until 3.00pm unless I paid additional 75 USD and will not allow me to keep my baggage anywhere in the hotel because no facility for such. 3. The room has no chair or reading table, no electric kettle or any other facility except the bed 4. The carpet in the room is damp and smelling

“It felt more like a brothel than a hotel and is definitely not a place for a family vacation.”

The room was clean overall, the bathroom had decent plumbing and disposable cleaning supplies, and the window was sealed with a film that only let you see day or night. Staying was possible, but expectations were lower after seeing the contingent of girls for an hour who escorted guests to the room. The hotel had mistakenly booked us, and I hope that mistake never happens again. It was late, we decided to stay, we managed, slept, and it was fine. The hotel allows hourly bookings, which explains the situation. We had two rooms: one on the mezzanine was quiet until staff arrived in the morning, which was fine with no significant noise. The second room on the second floor had a slight cigarette smell, noisy neighbors, and after contacting reception the noise quietened, but after a while music was turned back on. The overall impression is mixed.

They never replaced the towels and the room went untouched for four days.

The building front was not fully maintained.

The location was spot on and getting there was a breeze, plus the cost matched what I expected. The only downside was the ice machine that was on the floor.
