Linden Row Inn

The room was terrific in size, the history was fascinating, and I loved being across from the public library. I was disappointed that there was no eating facility for breakfast attached to the hotel; it had apparently closed a few months ago, so I had to walk out to find breakfast.

The building’s architecture and the cat were great, but the shower in the bathroom had very low water pressure and didn’t drain properly.

The location was convenient, but the thin walls let in neighbor noise and the room was small.

The spot was pretty good, yet we booked a budget double queen room because we wanted two queen beds, not for the price, which matched other rooms; the wallpaper was peeling, the baseboard near the heater in the bathroom was dirty, and the windows were dirty, giving a slightly seedy vibe; the linens, towels, sink, shower, and toilet were clean; the building’s exterior needed repairs in some spots; overall we were not impressed.

“Great location and services and a peaceful setting in the city make me want to return.”

The staff were friendly, the location quiet, and the patio/garden space peaceful, plus free access to the YMCA a few blocks away, and the room was spacious with a microwave and fridge—everything made for a wonderful stay; however, I forgot how much smoking still happens in Richmond, with people smoking on balconies and the nasty smoke drifting into the shared garden, which was annoying; it’s surprising this isn’t a non‑smoking place, given how old and wooden many of the buildings are; this is a city‑wide issue, not specific to Linden Row Inn.
