“Bed bugs crawling on me, couldnt sleep all night!”
I stayed at Lagos Marina Guest House in September 2026 and found a serious bed‑bug problem right before bedtime. The woman in the bed next to mine saw a bug crawl toward her while the lights were still on. After checking my mattress and the surrounding beds, we discovered bugs on three of the five beds, including a bunk bed and two others. We called the hosts straight away; they were quick to respond and tried to fix the issue by cleaning, changing sheets, and steaming the mattress, but the bugs persisted. They kept saying how clean they keep the place and how good their ratings are, but that didn’t change what we saw and recorded that night. It was so late and we had nowhere else to go, so I had to stay there. I woke up with bugs on me, filmed videos and sent them to the hosts. They apologized, refunded us, and offered to let me sleep in their private space, which I appreciated, but I was already exposed. The next day I got the worst bites I’ve ever had, with swelling, severe itching, burning, and pain. The refund and apology were fair, but they couldn’t undo the physical suffering or the impact on my trip. I don’t know if they’ve done professional pest control since, but finding bed bugs on three of five beds meant the problem was serious and more than just changing sheets or steaming would fix. Book at your own risk and ask if the rooms and beds have had professional treatment.
