Apart from the beds being smaller than I had imagined, everything else about this place was very accommodating! My partner and I had never stayed at a hostel before and we were grateful for such a positive experience from start to finish. Amazing staff, lovely view, great location, incredible all around.

The setting is beautiful, the beds and bedding/towels are comfortable, and it’s great to meet other travellers in a hostel environment. The kitchen has dishes, a fridge, a stove, coffee and coffee‑making supplies, and plenty of seating.

Friendly staff friendly people staying nobody bothered anybody exceeded expectations. Wish there were more bathrooms but you get what you pay for

I love how remote it is. A great place to switch off and connect with nature. Staff are soo lovely . Super clean. They have everything there. Nice bathrooms. Kitchen is kitted out. Before you arrive make sure you bring food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as there are no local shops. There is the village but its about a 40 minute walk which only has a little tuck shop and restaurants. Also beware of the scam that is going on. If you receive a WhatsApp "from" HI wilderness DO NOT OPEN. It isn't them! I hope the staff report this scam as its serious
