Hôtel Le Vivier WISSANT - Rivière

I booked a place with a bathtub, but ended up in a room without one, which was disappointing. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable, and the location was good. Parking was a bit of a hassle, and the TV was small.

It didn’t look like a hotel at all, not what you’d expect. The place felt cold, a touch of décor would help, and when we arrived there was no one to greet us.

We arrived at 8 pm and the accommodation was accessible with the key on the bed. The area is quiet and peaceful. After booking, we received a flood of messages that were oddly formatted. The listing said a parking spot was included, yet the messages told us to find parking nearby. The place smelled very musty, like a basement apartment, and felt uncomfortable. The staff seemed to have taken a back seat. We only booked the nights, not the optional breakfast, and we didn’t eat breakfast anywhere in or near the property, yet the price was increased the next day to include it—unacceptable. If anyone finds anything odd during their stay here, please add it to the reviews.

The hotel is well‑located and quiet in this autumn season, though there’s no parking; we managed to find a spot nearby. In the annex, “Le Vivier,” there was no one to welcome us, and the room was only minimally clean and open. The bedding was good. I had booked two rooms and had to call the manager to get the number for the second room. Breakfast, however, was hearty and tasty in the other part of the hotel. On arrival, the state of my room, number 17, was barely acceptable. Instructions to access the rooms were emailed at 11 am, and no one was physically present to explain anything.
