“Lovely place to stay- would recommend”
The rooms were nicely decorated, the bed comfy, parking available, and the breakfast was beautifully presented. Melford Hall is just a short walk away, and the village itself is interesting to explore. The owners gave great information about dining options in Long Melford and were very attentive. The light switches were confusing even after reading the guide, the bathroom had no shelves for toiletries, and the towels were very hard. An “emergency” light kept flickering while I moved around the room. In mid‑October, the walk back from the village is very dark for the last few metres, though there’s a footpath; a torch is recommended. It’s right next to the main road, so morning traffic noise is probably unavoidable. It’s odd they didn’t offer a choice of eggs with the full breakfast—I’d have liked poached. I would have preferred a vegetable spread instead of butter (I avoid dairy if possible, but didn’t mention it beforehand).
