This place feels very quaint and has a hostel vibe. The host is friendly and welcoming. If you don’t have transport, it’s a bit far from restaurants and other amenities. But the host cooks a wonderful dinner with two options and a hearty breakfast, all served communally. It’s worth a visit, especially for pilgrims and cyclists.

This stay ranks among our most memorable experiences in Japan; the host was exceptional and charming, and the rooms and facilities were well organised and spacious. Though a bit off the Henro path, the walk to the inn was lovely, and the host kindly drove us back to the Henro route the next morning. My room offered a stunning sunset view over a valley of rice fields, and the morning mist added to the charm. On the downside, the inn is a 100‑year‑old farmhouse and the host is younger and less formal, which contrasts with the more traditional routines of most accommodations.
