“Well worth the journey.”
The history and character of the building are very impressive, but the people inside are even more impressive. The narrow roads my Sat Nav sent me down. Don't go via Sapperton!
A lovely spot with no complaints to mention.
The place was peaceful and the staff were friendly, but the shower was a bit of a challenge.
“Avoid if you want to sleep”
The building and village look nice. The noise was so bad I couldn't sleep until after 3am because of a lock‑in and guests that were not considered at all, or even after complaining being told it's a family home so to expect noise like this. Like that's ok when you pay to sleep then you get none for £80! The room was okay but the door didn't close properly and the bathroom was small but ok. It's also quite a challenge to get there depending on how sat nav sends you. Food was ok. The car park is across the road.
“We will never visit this establishment again, or at last until we are sure it is under management.”
Abysmal management. Having agreed (and taken payment!) for breakfast, the kitchen never opened and no staff appeared in the morning. The night before we arranged breakfast for 8am. By 10am there was no staff in the building. Previous night’s dirty glasses were lying around on the tables outside and in. No sign of a member of staff. We did not know how to check out, where to leave the key, and had to leave hungry. The room was not very clean. The staff non-existent. One of our party has a medical condition that requires meals at specific times, which made the situation stressful as there are no cafes or shops for miles. There is no telephone signal either. Nor was the WiFi code available in the room. They could and should have served breakfast, having charged for it and arranged the time. The cleaning left a lot to be desired, dust and stains on the lavatory wall. Pretty gross
