The country location was excellent and very peaceful, parking was good, the welcome was lovely with friendly staff and wonderful customer service, and the food was delicious; everything was good.

I was thrilled with everything about this place – it sat in a peaceful spot surrounded by gorgeous fields and was close to the family we were visiting. The staff went above and beyond, and the food was amazing. There was nothing to complain about.

The location was outstanding, and the property felt great. The garden is the real highlight, absolutely stunning, and it’s no wonder it’s used for weddings. The views from every corner of the hotel are impressive. Unfortunately, the electrical switches for the radiators were broken, so the radiators ran all night. Knowing this beforehand would have let us bring a fan. My partner asked for a fan and the staff supplied one, but it still took us about two hours to fall asleep because of the heat. The bed itself wasn’t very comfortable, and for the price of a single night we were underwhelmed. We also paid for breakfast to be included. When we went to breakfast, we could only pick one item from the menu and the full English version wasn’t available; we had to pay an extra £2 for it. This wasn’t explained when I chose breakfast included, which felt a bit cheeky.

The food was excellent, especially the Sunday roast which was very tasty. Breakfast was also good. The room was clean and comfortable. The bottled water in our room was very warm, and the water that came with our Sunday roast was served in a bottle but was warm too. A jug of lemon water with ice would have been better.
