The surroundings were peaceful, the bed was super comfy, the room was roomy, and the amenities were great – tea, coffee, biscuits, water. I wish there were a few more towel hooks in the bathroom, but that’s a tiny detail.

The breakfast was fantastic.

The Victorian house was gorgeous and it’s right next to Richmond Park. The pool was shut, and the dinner didn’t live up to my expectations.

Charming old house, brimming with period features, including retaining fireplaces in the bedrooms. Utter peace and quiet. The barman was excellent, and the food in the bar fresh and tasty (pizza). Lunch at the conference the following day was tasty and high quality. I was asked to pay £10 per night parking when I arrived, despite there being no mention of this. Fortunately, the confirmation included specific inclusion of one parking spot. Note that anything cooked (over and above eggs to go with the full English breakfast buffet) is chargeable at £5 an item. Service at lunchtime was somewhat haphazard, despite having to pre-order (for a meeting of 20 people)

The location was fine. The room was dirty, the divan bed was stained, all the towels had been used and were dirty, and the bathroom floor and carpet were not clean.
