The building and grounds feel fresh and well kept, not too old, with a bright, “funky” decor aimed at younger couples. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast offered a good variety with attentive service. A shuttle bus runs to the main part of Kata. The location is convenient, near many restaurants, bars, shops, and the beach. The rooftop pool is nice but very exposed. We booked a pool‑access room, and the small balcony had an uncomfortable hanging basket egg chair that filled the space; removing it would allow a couple of chairs. The room itself had limited space for suitcases, so we had to stash them on the only comfortable chair, leaving no other good seating spot. The hotel sits halfway up a steep hill, requiring a 100 m climb up a footpath‑less, busy street to reach the entrance—this isn’t the hotel’s fault but worth noting if you’re not as spry as you used to be.
