The historical background of the place impressed us, the views were exceptional, and being close to both Trieste and the mountain areas was a plus. The peace of the location matched well with the excellent wine. It would have been nice to dine on the premises, but they don’t offer that; we were aware of this beforehand, so it isn’t a major issue, just a missed convenience.

Breakfast was superb and the service very good. The three dachshunds owned by the proprietors added a charming touch. Other guests were very friendly and the overall atmosphere was relaxed. Unfortunately the beds were very hard; my husband had to use the comfortable sofa instead. The ultra‑modern design shower was difficult to turn on.

Very nice in the vineyards, and the house is beautifully restored with a long history. Unfortunately there is no restaurant now, so you always have to drive elsewhere, and the walk to the town is too far.
