The place is well‑located, has a shared kitchen, and a private shower and sink in the room. A discount supermarket is just a few minutes away, making it easy to cook for yourself. The downside was the smoking policy: at the end of the hallway there’s a corner with a window and an ashtray, and anyone can smoke there whenever they want, which makes the whole building smell. I had a room next to that “smoking window,” and the smoke drifted in while I tried to sleep. It was nasty. In every other German hotel I’ve stayed at, guests must smoke outside in a designated area. If they did the same here, the property would be good value for money.

I stayed between the train station and the city centre, the place was clean and the shared kitchen offered coffee and cereal, plus air‑conditioning. The building I was in let people smoke in a corridor window, but the smoke still drifted into our room, which was annoying.
