Excellent location. The facility is clean and welcoming. The host is very helpful. The room is simple but functional.

The bed was comfy, the facilities were clean, and the location was great—just a short walk from the Vatican and a restaurant right across the street. The owner was hard to reach to coordinate check‑in times; they messaged us the day before asking when we’d arrive, and we told them 7 am. When we landed in Rome, we asked when the room would be ready and never got a reply. We were lucky that friends staying in the room next to us could contact the owner via WhatsApp, who then told us our room number, where the keys were, and that the room was ready. We never received the door code or instructions on how to get into the room. If our friends hadn’t been staying there too, we would have been completely stranded since we don’t use WhatsApp.

The spot is fantastic – just a stone’s throw from the Vatican and right next to a bar we kept going back to, with plenty of other pubs and eateries within a quick stroll. They handed out free snacks and coffee, which was a nice touch. When we got there, the power had gone out and the bathroom had black mold. The bed only had a fitted sheet and a flat sheet to top it off.
