“El mejor en Madrid!”

The philosophy, atmosphere, cleanliness, location and staff were all A1. I stayed for a week and then only one day for my last night in Madrid. That final night cost almost 60 % more than a night during the earlier period. They told me it was due to high demand from an event that weekend in Madrid, but the hike was excessive for the size of the room I was given, especially as a frequent client.

“Great location, decent accommodations, not worth the price.”

The bed was very comfortable and the man who checked me in was very polite and kind. The cigarette smoke smell from outside seeped into my room even with the doors and windows shut. I heard people having sex next door, despite the room claiming to be soundproof. The cost was exceedingly high, even though it was the cheapest option I could find last minute on a holiday weekend.

Central location, but not particularly noisy thanks to thermo‑acoustic windows; rooms are nice although slightly dim in the bathroom and washbasin area. I recommend the superior rooms with balconies on the higher floors. Breakfast is excellent with many sweet and savory options. The staff are discreet yet present when needed. The only flaw of this beautiful central hotel is that none of the rooms have a toilet with a bidet, which is quite inconvenient for Italian travelers—there should be more space in many bathrooms. What a pity!

I paid a lot of $ for an upgrade room and received a windowless room on the first floor near the smoking area. This is not an upgrade. I asked to change rooms and finally received a nicer room because they had no other options. The rooms are very uncomfortable. The bathroom facilities are lacking.
