A unique property over 100 years old, with a lot of character and nicely updated. Location in the heart of downtown Des Moines with easy walking access to many of the city's top restaurants. I had breakfast twice in the Hobknob Cafe in the hotel. The portions were generous but everything was a little on the sweet side, which may not be unusual for the Midwest. Also, they could do more with the impressive two-story lobby. It's very lifeless and could be much more of a feature and a gathering place

Nothing. Double charged for our whole stay. House keeping did not always come around. Had to call for toilet paper. Extremely expensive laundry services. Certainly would not recommend this place to any one

The facilities were gorgeous and the service was spot on; we slept like babies and I’d highly recommend this place. There were no disappointments at all.
