“Visiting in Philadelphia”

The spot is great—right next to the main bus station, City Hall, and the metro stop. The room was decent but needed some upkeep. I liked the shared kitchen, plus a washing machine and dryer. Wi‑Fi was speedy, and the host sent clear entry instructions. The only downside was a bit of bar noise on Friday and Saturday evenings, but it didn’t bother me. The building’s second floor is accessed by stairs, which can be tough for older or less mobile guests; I managed it with three pieces of luggage, which turned into a decent workout after my trip.

The place was conveniently located. There were no cups for drinking water, the lighting was poor, and only a single switch by the door controlled the overhead light—no bedside lamps or temperature control. The shower curtain wasn’t hung properly, letting water spill onto the floor, and there was no extra toilet paper.

The location was excellent, close to the market and bus terminal, and the Wi‑Fi worked well. However, there was no on‑site reception; all details were sent virtually. Upon entry, a strong unpleasant odor from dirty carpet in the staircase and the room hit me. Sleeping was tough because of loud nighttime music, and the room lacked a window, trapping dust and grime inside; we woke up coughing and feeling unwell. There was no mirror, and the wardrobe door was loose. The stay was so bad that I woke early to leave quickly, only returning late to catch a breath of fresh air. A cleaning fee was charged but seemed unused.
