The room doors are fitted with a silent latch that reliably closes the door without a loud click, which is something I’ve never seen before and is very soothing. Unfortunately, the hotel’s location is disappointing, right in the town on a main traffic street, and contrary to its name there is no nice view from the building; it is simply surrounded by trees and other buildings. The receptionist made us wait two minutes before asking, in a very curt, military‑style tone, “Name?” The restaurant’s menu is high‑priced, and although we didn’t dine there that evening, it left a good impression. Our room on the second floor had a wooden floor, which made a harsh clatter when a guest walked in the room above us. In the bathroom opposite the toilet there was an indeterminate yellow spot on the wall that looked very unappetizing. The windows lack shutters and instead have blackout curtains; one curtain was only half the width of its window, so street lights leaked into the room all night. The shower door frame had water damage and the fixtures were loose and not properly tightened. We had requested in writing that we be given a room far from the elevator and stairwell, but that was ignored and we were assigned a room directly next to the stairwell. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, though the fruit selection was of lower quality. The restaurant staff were very friendly.
