Located at the foot of the Saint-Gotthard Massif, Hotel & Restaurant Forni in Airolo offers a restaurant, free WiFi, and free parking and SPA. Renovated rooms (2018) feature cable TV and private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers. The on-site restaurant serves a variety of dishes and fine wines. Situated near Airolo Train Station and the A2 motorway, amidst Alpine landscapes.

The location is perfect, right next to the Gotthardtunnel, with a public parking lot across the road – great for a quick stop on the way to Italy. We ate well and the breakfast was fine, except the cappuccino from the machine at breakfast was lukewarm – the milk should have been hotter, I think (coffee after dinner was fine!).

A tidy, spacious family room with a comfortable mattress, free water bottles and a coffee machine in the room, plus nice parquet flooring. Our room was at the back, so it was very quiet even though it’s next to the train station. The bathroom is small and tight compared to the room, but it was manageable. Nothing else to note.
