“Great staff and family facilities, but the dining lets it down a little.”
The hotel had everything you’d need, including a free shuttle to Forio, and the driver was wonderful and supportive. The small thermal pool with sauna was lovely and warmly furnished. There’s also a children’s playground with a staff member who looks after the kids, which we appreciated. The weak spots were the kitchen and breakfast: everything was cold, from eggs to pancakes. Breakfast ran from 08:00 to 10:00, but the buffet was already being cleared at 09:50, making us feel rushed. Dinner was at 20:00, far too late for a family hotel, and we were told to arrive right on time or the kitchen couldn’t cope. It felt a bit like a canteen or camp. Also, this is a family hotel, so both breakfast and dinner are noisy, and early in the morning the corridors can get loud because the doors aren’t sound‑proof. The large pool was still open but no longer being cleaned, probably because we were there in the last week of the season.
