“Enttäuschend auf ganzer Linie”
I was disappointed by the room cleanliness; never before had I stayed in such a dirty room. The toilet still had traces of the previous guest, and the entire room was dust‑covered (see photos). The furnishings and design had nothing in common with the advertised “exclusivdesignwohlfühlzimmer.” Around 0:30 am, four staff members loudly talked right below the guest rooms and woke us up. A brief “sorry” from them and that was it. The next morning, at breakfast, the receptionist stayed relaxed on her chair as we tried to open the front door with our luggage. No warmth whatsoever; instead a curt “Good morning” followed by “Coffee?” No “Did you sleep well? Does the room suit you?” The breakfast was as expected, fitting the overall picture: low‑quality reheat rolls, no bread, no breakfast eggs—very bland in the König von Preußen. The breakfast lady stopped by briefly, “All good with you?” and that was the end of the service. She then quickly joined the other two staff in the kitchen, probably for a “morning meeting.” It was also a pity that the staff enjoyed drinks like cappuccino, latte macchiato from the coffee machine, but we were not offered that. We stayed only one night, but we’ve known this hotel for decades and have celebrated many birthdays here. Maybe the kitchen is still good—we can’t judge. But the hotel operation, rooms, and staff have nothing to do with the “König von Preußen.”
